What is the difference between a tester and cologne?

I am looking to buy cologne over the internet and i see that they have testers and then they have cologne, what is the difference?

    They are the same. The tester bottle is the one labled tester that retailers allow customers to spray themselves with in order to “test” it. But overall, they are the same.

    Most employees of cosmetic counters receive ‘gratis’ product(free).
    They call them testers, which is what is put out for customers to sample. If they come full, in the box, that is the same thing you’d buy at the counter.
    I buy ‘testers’ on e-bay for half the price! It’s the same quality, and the people that sell them make money on their free product.

    Testers do not have the regular packaging. Sometimes they do not have caps either, but the product is the exact same thing. It is a good way to save money if it is for yourself, not really for a gift.
