Okay as a guy im gonna help you out…

So first all the hollister “colognes” are really just pheromonal…they tire your nose out.

Best last year was Unforgiven By Sean John its a soft smell which is very good actually.

Then there is Crave or Truth by Calvin Klein which were best sellers a couple of years ago

If he is on the old side You might try getting him a bottle of Mont Blanc Presence which is awesome in a smoky musky kind of way.

THen there is the Obvious Aqua Di Gio…but everyone wears this just like the Hollister and Abercrombie stuff and you got to ask yourself…does he want to stand out or just blend in with the other guys?

I heard Sean John came out with a new Fragrance called King or something of that sort. you might wanna check that out.
Please stay away from Alcohol Based cologneds, you know the cheap ones like Old Spice and others. THey irritate the skin more

Wings by Giorgio Beverly Hills is a classic clean and fresh smell… i would say this is a fine choice if you do find a bottle.

Z Zegna is a good clean smell as well.

But in all honesty I always liked Truth By Calving klein, but i must admit it does have a slight metallic undertone in there, which i believe makes it intriguing

above all, smell all of these before purchasing…after all you’ll be the one smelling him….and stay away from Polo Black, Hummer, Burberry, and Kenneth Cole, Perry Ellis, DKNY, and Guess….these are made for a certain type of male who like a certain type of smell…i believe they smell too much.
