What is the appropriate age for wearing cologne/fragrance?

asked:

First of all, what is the eau de toilette spray called for guys, cologne, fragrance, or perfume?
Second, what’s the appropriate age for wearing it? Half my friends who are like 12 or 13 say they wear it like everyday, yet my parents tell me not to use it until I’m 16…and my 10 year old cousin wears perfume too! So, in your opinion, what age?

You could probably negotiate with your folks down to maybe 14 or so … toilet water doesn’t last very long. The amount of fragrance is much less than cologne or perfume. I think 10 is too young for sure and even 12-13 doesn’t seem very appropriate. Seems like I got some little girl scent (toilet water and dusting powder) for my 11th birthday and I used it on Sundays when we were going to church. But I didn’t use it every day.
