How can you get excessive perfume smell out of a house?

I am extremely sensitive to perfume (even the sligtest whiff makes me very sick, very quickly). I just bought this air purifier, and my father decided to test it while I was gone by spraying a bottle of perfume about 10 times in the living room to see if the air purifier worked.

Now the entire house absolutely reeks, as does the air purifier machine. Opening windows does not help. The tuff was sprayed oer 8 hour ago, and I need to find a way to get rid of the perfume because I have already thrown up 2 times in 30 min since I got home (sorry for the detail).
Remember, even the smallest whiff makes me very ill, and the smell is EVERYWHERE (it’s all over the house, on everything). Do I have to move out? Please help. Thank you. God bless.

Take some coffee grinds or beans are even better and set them in several bowls around the house. they will soak up the smell!!

set out coffee beans, try baking soda like in the fridge, and oust has worked well for me… and those ugly cone shaped things that are like 99cents… they soak up smells pretty fast. You could try a smoker’s candle as well. Febreeze isn’t that great. Good luck!

washing everything in some non-fragranced detergen will help but i dont think it will get it out completely, so try some fabreeze, also this might sound wierd but try some pet deodorizer, it works in my house

First try leaving all of the Windows open for most of a day. The perfume will evaporate over time. This may be too slow depending on the amount your dad got into the area.
If that does not work go to an industrial rental place and rent an industrial ozone generator. Ozone is very dangerous but it will oxidize the perfume and eliminate the odor. (Oxygen want to be a two atom molecule (O2). Ozone is O3 so it want to get rid of the third molecule and oxidize whatever it contacts.)
After you use the device you must air out the house completely. I would suggest that you get a hotel room or stay at a friends house for two days. During the first day run the ozone generator. During the second air our the house.
If you local rental places do not have ozone generators there are firms that clean up after fires, floods, and sewage problems that will come to your home and do the clean up.
Note: send the bill to Dad!

You need to buy Neutralizer and spray that in your house and it will disappear:):)

Two obvious options here,
neutralizing the odour.
Neutralizing your sense of smell.
All the other answers are concerned with the former.
I suggest the latter as a “last resort”!!
Smoking does the job quite nicely.
(warning this not only is detrimental to your sense of smell, it can ACTUALLY be bad for your health; so they tell us!)
oh well it was only a thought.
But I know what you mean, sometimes I’d rather smell 300 poo’s than some over powering perfume.

ok this is wut i would do… make some really strong coffie and leave it on. then take coffie beans and put them in a bowl in every room to soak up the smell it worked for us a while back hope it works.

Do you have any rhubarb plants nearby? Boil the leaves in the water. Strain. Put in Squirt bottle and Spray everywhere in your place! Do not get in eyes and don’t get too close to cloth! In afew days place shouldn’t smell of perfume. Another way is use garlic with above rhubarb water.. Do as above and that should get the perfume smell out but you’ll have a garlic smell instead.. You can get rid of that by squirting Lemon Juice about! And have trays of Baking Soda sitting about to absorb any sour smells caused by the Lemon Juice. Another way costs a bit.. use Fuller Brush or Dr. Scholl’s .. athletes foot order neutralizer spray it about in your place and that should get rid of the perfume smell!

I would cook some “collard greens”. I cooked some for the first time many years ago and teased people that I had to buy new curtains as the smell was incredable. LOL. Try and defuse the odor with regular lysol.
If that does not work get a box of matches and strike them wherever the smell is coming from. First wet the matches and it will give off more sulfur..
